The last month has been pretty wild. In the last 30 days, 145K people have been kind enough to visit my blog posts. Many have reached out privately with feedback, rebuttals, words of encouragement, and there have even been a few pleas to curse less. On that last point: dang, ok.

I’ve been overwhelmed by the kindness and curiosity of the folks I’ve met through this blog. The proportion of constructive comments to destructive ones is easily 10:1, and that’s despite navigating trending stories on Hacker News twice this year.

So, I’m starting a monthly newsletter. You can sign up here: https://joemorrison.substack.com/welcome

Nothing much is going to change — this won’t be another one of those “links from around the web” roundup things. It’ll be the same long-form analysis of the modern business and technology of mapping you’re accustomed to. My hope is that formalizing my commitment to writing will help me improve, and building an email list will bring me closer to my audience. If you ever want to reach me with your ideas, feedback, or memes, you can just reply directly to the newsletter.

If newsletters aren’t your thing, I get it. I only subscribe to a handful, and email stresses me out. I’ll still cross-post everything to Medium, so you don’t have to subscribe to keep reading! But newsletter subscribers will get everything first, and I’ll post stuff to Medium later, as time allows.

Thank you so much for all of your support over the past year, and please consider becoming one of the first people to join me on this newsletter journey — I think it will be a lot of fun!
